Quick Answers
Do I qualify for medical cannabis in Texas?
Yes, if you are a Texas resident and have a qualifying condition as defined by the Texas Compassionate Use Program (TCUP). This robust list now includes:
- Chronic Pain (including neuropathic pain)
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Cancer
- Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
- Autism
- Epilepsy / Seizure Disorders
- Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
- Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
- Crohn’s Disease
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
- Terminal Illnesses or conditions requiring hospice care
- Spasticity
- Abdominal Pain
- Over 100 incurable neurodegenerative diseases
What if my specific condition isn't listed?
Under the new HB 46 expansion, Texas now recognizes a wider range of qualifying conditions for medical cannabis. These include chronic pain, abdominal pain, neuropathy, spasticity, cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and all hospice and palliative care patients, among many others. Our physicians can review your specific medical history to determine eligibility and guide you through the certification process.
Do I need a physical 'Medical Card' in Texas?
Legally, Texas does not require patients to have a physical medical marijuana card to participate in the Texas Compassionate Use Program (TCUP). However, Texas Cannabis Clinic provides you with a “TCUP printable medical cannabis card” along with your certification letter. These documents will be available digitally through your patient portal within 5-7 days of your completed appointment. This card serves as a helpful convenience but is not required for you to access your medication.
How does the cost and $40 discount work?
Our service fee is normally $160. With the limited-time code SAVE40, you pay only $120 for your full 12-month certification. The state of Texas does not charge any additional registration fees. There is no fee if you are not approved.
What is the difference between Texas Original and Texas Cannabis Clinic?
Do I have to choose a medical cannabis doctor in my city?
No, you do not. For example, TCC is a 100% telehealth practice, serving patients all over the state of Texas so physical proximity is not necessary.
How can I prepare for my appointment?
Have your medical records and a list of current prescriptions at hand, as well as a list of your symptoms and the questions or concerns you might have about starting a treatment with medical cannabis.
What are key subjects to discuss during my appointment?
Make sure you have a clear understanding of how medical marijuana can benefit your specific condition as well as possible side effects and how to manage them. Also discuss with your doctor the different forms of marijuana available to you at authorized dispensaries and which one is better suited for you, so by the time you show up at the dispensary you know exactly what you’re getting and why.
